Conrad Young

Conrad Young is Managing Director of Food Forward Ltd, a UK-based business working with investors, innovators and industry leaders in food supply.  Food Fw hosts new ventures at www.foodfw.com/innovators, enables trials with industry hosts, and connects growth opportunities with investors.

Conrad is in demand for his industry insights, particularly around the future of food distribution, resource efficiency, packaging and waste.  He has been, variously, a speaker, mentor and advisory board member at the Consumer Goods Forum Sustainable Retail Summit, EY’s FutureConsumerNow, LBSHack, and the Japan-based International Green Purchasing Network.

Prior to Food Fw, Conrad worked with 2degrees Network to establish the Asda Sustain & Save Exchange, an agri-food supply chain sustainability community, and the Tesco Supplier Buying Club, a collective innovation procurement platform for Tesco’s food suppliers.

His background in agri-food also includes a period in government working for the UK’s agriculture and food ministry and pro-bono work with the Permaculture Network in Zimbabwe.

His cities experience includes setting up a program for the World Bank Institute – the Resilient Cities Network – spanning eight global-scale growing cities, from Amman to Sao Paulo.

Pre-MBA he worked as Chair of the London Environmental Coordinator’s Forum and Head of Sustainability in the London Borough of Lewisham where he was responsible for a program covering flood defence for 240,000 citizens, biodiversity across 500 hectares of land, sustainable management of 200,000 tonnes of waste, municipal fleet transport and sustainability of social housing providers.

He has a joint UK/US MBA from London Business School / Berkeley Haas Graduate School of Business of University of California.  He is a former President of the London Chapter of Net Impact, and a Financial Times Non Executive Director diploma holder.
